How big is too big for a bird bath and does it need to be shallow?

I don't know that there is a limit to the diameter, other than for cleaning. Depth is probably different, as the birds would need to be able to stand up in it.Helpful Reply -

I don't know about too big, but too deep and they won't use. I had to put a big rock in the middle of a deep ceramic bird bath for them to land on.Helpful Reply -

Most bird baths are pretty shallow. I ended up putting 3 rocks of different heights for them to drink from, but lost the ability for them to bathe.Helpful Reply -
