How to get privacy with plants that will grow to about 8 ft in shade?
We have a fence between us and our neighbors with plants that our dying (had a hibiscus hedge and some other "test plants, shrubs" that didn't make it as there is a huge banyan tree looming and also shade from our mango. I'm looking for a green privacy plant that will grow 8 - 10 feet tall and thick enough to create privacy that will do will in the shade. We would plant about 6 or 7 in a line. Any recommendations?
Thank you,

Contact your local Agricultural Extension office for plants that will do well in your area. They have good information about your climate and what does and does not perform well.

Forsythia bushes grow 8 to 10 feet tall, but they are vigorous growers, so they likely need consistent trimming so they don't encroach on each side.
Love the idea I'm working on a similar project using blackberries in raised beds. I built 8 ft beds and planted 3 plants in each. They grow fast after the first season and will create a nice wall for me that I'm using around my fire pit area.
I plan to share it on my blog this friday and the same idea could work for you but you'll need about 6 - 8 hours of sunlight a day. So I know you said it was a shaded area but check to see how many hours of sunlight you have in that space because that will help guide what you can plant.
Here is a peak at those beds I mentioned. I recently moved them.

This is what they look like when they're grown and you can decide how tall you want them to grow.
