We didn’t frame our asphalt but rather had it slope on the sides. We were advised it is more durable over time. Mine was done in 88 and my husband drives an 18 wheeler so bobtailed over it a lot. Has 2 spots that need patched now. It’s about 8 cars lengths.
Agree with the sloping idea. It would also prevent a possible tripping hazard.
