Making a well head cover

Hi!. Finding creative well head covers that doesn't look like a rock isn't easy. Decided to make my own statue, but find cement is too heavy to lift. Paper mache is lighter and molds well to chicken wire, but not rain proof. Any suggestions what can be used that will "weather" well? Thanks!

What about a statue from the Garden Center, or a plastic 'snowman' or something similar form a line of Christmas statues? The plastic would weather and you could paint it and make it into what ever 'person or animal' you wanted.

Hmmm, this has possibilities as I wish to make it a female figure. Thanks!

At some time you will need to be able to get to the well head. Many people here build a little house like a dog house with a removable top or are able to remove the whole fixture. You really do not want to put anything right on top of the well head. It should have some sort of cover on it already. Talk to people that have wells so you learn about wells.

A large ceramic pot turned up side down and with a fiberglass or composite statue on top... also ... some of the new pots are fiberglass or composite... too.

What if you made a "wishing well" on top of the well

There are landscape bricks and blocks that will assemble into a circle (like for a fire pit) that do not require mortar. and could be moved if you needed to get to the well head for servicing. And the roof structure could be removable as well.

I like Marty’s idea. I did this with a pot and sat a birdbath on top. Could probably but bird food in too Unless you have other critters than could get in and make a mess.

Get a large wire spindle that the electric company uses that the electric line come on. Cut off the excess so that you only have the middle of the spindle. Paint the outside to look like a well (I did mine like red bricks)

or use stone look mobile home skirting to cover the outside. Insulate the inside.Cut a piece of tin to fit the top , Get an old hand pump and add to the top. This is heavy enough to stay in place but easy enough to get into if you need to work on the pump. Plant loads of seasonal flowers around it.
