You can, but do some research on the tree first. The mounting could damage the tree and invite diseases or pests.Helpful Reply -

Try mounting the flag to a non-living, leafy tree - perhaps to the side of a barn, a building or on s flag pole...Any mounting plan - nails, screws, etc. - into the trunk or branches of a tree will cause damage to the bark and create an open wound into which insects can invade. If you must, hang the flag by tieing the flag loosely - to allow for tree growth - around the limb or trunk.Helpful Reply -
