    I have an ugly palm tree stump that is almost waist high. So I put a pot of fern on top and let it hang down. Nice and green.

    Make it a focal point. You could put a flower pot on top or have it drilled out and put flowers in. I have a large cement dog statue that sits on mine. Drill a hole to insert a flag pole.

    Make a Nome house if it's tall enough. You can search it for ideas or come up with your own. If it's pretty small/short-close to the ground you can drill holes in it and dump Epsom salt on it and eventually it will rot away.

    Have someone to put a hole in it as large as a flower pot plant some beautiful color flowers in the pot and sit in down in the whole in the stump. Enjoy

    Add something to the stump to make it belong.

    Some ideas;

    A small door and window, some miniature landscaping and a pebble path through a miniature garden, so it becomes a fairy home. Maybe even a small flag in front so the fairyfolk are ready for the 4th.

    Plant vines near the stump and allow them to grow over and conceal it. You can drill a couple of holes in the top and add a trellis for the vines to climb. Or, put a preplanted ornamental pot on top of the stump and allow plants to hang down over it. You can anchor the pot by drilling a hoe in the stump and putting a rod through the drain hole of the pot into the stump.

    Stumps also make good beach umbrella holders. Drill a hole the diameter of your umbrella pole. Install the umbrella and put a lawn chair or two under it. Voila; a patio! And, if the stump is large enough, a handy side table.

    If the height is right, make it into a stationary bench. Just attach boards to the top and take a load off your feet.
