What is the best border for our vegetable garden?

Garden is about 12 x 20 ft. We have about 8 (4x8) garden boxes in it . The garden is surrounded by rotten garden ties which need to be replaced. Looking for an economical replacement

Treated 2X12's are the only thing that I can think of, maybe from a salvage company or used lumber yard -
