What is the best way to create a garden space on a terrace?

I have small deck and I put my plants in pots. Which worked out the best. I buy plants that can be put in pots and just water them . Use good garden soil. I have a planter with grape tomatoes and last year I had so many I was giving some away.

While pallet planter are interesting, they can be very messy. With high winds you would be best served with a fun collection of beautiful pots that could be brought in if necessary. Put the bigger heavier pots on rollers for easy moving.

I built a potters bench and I garden in pots and set them on the bench. On stormy days I have a table and floor area just inside the door that I transfer the pots to. I know the potters bench is a little extreme, but I needed a place to set my wine glass.

This is what my terrace looks like. I have a brick wall to the left, and all open to the right.
