Best way to remove sagebrush ?

Bought over 2 acres and the entire lot is covered in sagebrush, the roots are VERY deep so it's hard to dig them out. I'm looking for something natural, no chemicals, we have 5 dogs and want them to be safe.

An idea is to maybe buy goats?
Love the goat idea. The are sweet and playful and a joy to raise.
Why would you want to remove the sagebrush? Consider this - unless you are going to landscape in this area, the disturbed soil from sagebrush removal will become a hotbed for weeds to move in, and the area will be dusty whenever the wind blows.
