Maybe another Hometalker will know more about where it came from, but in terms of getting rid of it - use a strong weed killer, double the recommended dose, and use it often. Dig out what you can, when you can -- and you'll notice a difference very soon.

It a weed that got blown in as any weeds. Four years ago I almost lost my lawn to Creeping Charlie. Had only small patches of grass left. Tried everything available and nothing worked. Then finally I found a product that worked. Spectracide Weed and Feed. Within days Charlie was withering away. And slowly my lawn came back. Now I just spot spray when ever I see Charlie.

You can put down a weed and feed in the fall. Comes spring do it again before the weeds emerge and that should eliminate the problem.

    sprinkle with borax

  • Weeds travel through the air in any breeze. Some are spread by the creatures of the night, and some by birds. No matter how they arrive, it is how you deal with them. I walk around with kettles of water every morning killing some offending weed. I just killed off an entire section with vinegar and will amend heavily and reseed in the fall. You can spread a weed and feed type product - One of my neighbors did a light application of a commercial weed and feed once a week for several months and it did bring their lawn back to life.
