Hi Phyllis, I would put out more fruits, nectar and berries. House sparrows tend to eat grass seeds, grains and insects. Maybe that will help
I have squirrels to contend with. they all have to eat.
Feed the song birds what they eat in one place and the Sparrows what they eat in another area away from other areas. It would be like trying to feed a bunch of cats but only wanting to feed certain colors when they show up for food;not gonna happen.You should want the Sparrows around because they eat bugs
