I use a syringe & hypodermic needle...fill the syringe with your herbicide solution & inject it into the largest stem of the plant & as close to the ground as possible. If you can get it into a root...all the better. Your other option is to 'paint the herbicide' onto the leaves of the plants, wait until the plant completely dries all the way to the roots, then remove it [if you remove it before the roots are dead, the plants will come back from the rootlets that are left in the soil.

Cut the blackberry back to about 1" and paint it with Lily Miller Brush and Blackberry killer. I have been doing this for 20 years now but the birds still bring seeds in so you have to be on top of it each year.

Take old grease ( 1 cup ) from your kitchen put 4 drops of dish washing liquid and fill a gallon milk container with warm water. Pour around roots. NO plant cant survive with this mixture. I even get rid of crab grass the same way.

Why on earth do you want to destroy blackberry plants? I know they have thorns and all that but you could wait until you harvest the berries and then cut them back. They're pretty much gone by middle of June.

they are growing through my double wide house skirting and tearing up my house, growing in the wood siding also. They have taken over my flower bed alongside one end of my house and hoard scorpions, crickets, and huge spiders.

WOAH! Now I see why you need it gone. Roundup has a new sprinkle on that you can safely apply to weeds and avoid getting it on those you want to keep. As to the syringe you might be able to talk your Dr or a diabetic friend into giving you a syringe but it's doubtful. One article I saw suggests a strong form of Vinegar that is produced by wine making. Doesn't say where to get it though. You apply it near the ground. Another says to mow them down, then cover the area with black plastic held down with a thick layer of mulch. Then keep an eye out for strays that pop up from the roots. Sounds good to me except I'd get some fill dirt to cover the plastic with and plant a flower bed on top of it. You may gave to re-do the skirting to something dark that will cut light under the house. Warning: Do NOT use cardboard for skirting material. Termites love it.
