Spray the area with a solution of water and lemongrass oil when you are there to help keep ticks down. You can also spray this on yourself as well. It will not kill the ticks, but should help them stay away.

Call a professional that sprays for tics and mosquitos. Whatever it is they spray it works and is not harmful to humans or animals.
