Fungus growth also requires moisture. Is the mushroom growth continuous or during certain times of the year? Your yard maybe holding extra water in pockets and may need some extra soil there to move the water elsewhere. If you find mushroom growth appearing remove them immediately before it opens up and spread spores. Throw them in the garbage and not in the compost.
Yesterday someone on here said she shook some Epsom Salts over the area and it worked. I have yet to try it.
