My house has lots of pets so no chemicals will be used. If I find a nest, I flood them out with the hose and they carry out the egg sacs. Then I shoot them with white vinegar from a pump sprayer. Acid in the vinegar kills them, yet not harmful to the pets. Just be careful, as vinegar can damage or kill other things too. Hose the area down and you are done.
