Apply food grade diatomaceous earth
if you have some low edged containers or even some lids fill them with beer and set them out in the evening by the places you see snails. The snails will crawl inside and the beer will kill them.
I was told to use crushed up egg shells all around the garden areas. It has helped a lot. you have to use it every year to keep them at bay. I hope this helps.
Salt will work but don't put where your watering will put it in the plants root system. A lot of commercial snail baits are available at any home and garden center.
