Squirrels don't like hot pepper flakes. So try putting hot pepper flakes on and around the pumpkins. -

You might try giving them an alternative to the pumpkins by feeding them nuts or seeds away from the pumpkins. -

put red pepper around the pumpkins. -

Rub cooking oil, then sprinkle with cayenne pepper, or pepper flakes. Good Luck!
