why would you want to get rid of Lady Bugs, they are beneficial insects, they eat aphids...
Maybe you don't have ladybugs--maybe you have Asian beetles that look like lady bugs. They are different. You want to leave the ladybugs alone--they are beneficial.
Are you sure they're lady bugs and not beetles? If they're orange they're beetles, their heads move. Lady bugs are wonderful in the garden they eat aphids.
One of the simplest & most effective ways to get rid of them is to vacuum them up.
Seal up any openings near your windows, doors, eaves, pipes, outlets and any other places they might get in.
Light traps are also an effective way to trap them.
Landscapers recommend placing food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE) around the perimeter of your home to keep ladybugs out and get rid of any that might be trying to get inside.
One effective way to prevent ladybug migration is to spray a pesticide on the exterior walls and siding of your home. The most common pesticides used for this purpose are pyrethroids and pyrethrins.
Maybe you want to keep Asian beetles out of your home, but you don’t want to kill them. You might even want them around to keep pests out of the garden. Placing a ladybug house in your yard will give these insects a place to hibernate for the winter, so they stay out of your home.
Ladybugs want to get in from the cold over the winter. I have same problem. But you also want to make sure there are not small bugs in the house for them to eat and seal up windows. I have vinyl so I mopped frequently with water/borax solution. It leaves a fine salt film on floor which will kill nearly everything like earwigs, spiders, etc. But be sure to mix it up every once in a while with something like simple green since the borax will build up and make spaces between the salt crystals for place for dirt to also build up. Good luck.
