The below link shows how to keep squirrels OUT of your birdfeeders, but to keep them out of your GARDEN you may WANT to build a birdfeeder to keep them away from your garden ... especially when they figure out you won't be chasing them away from the feeder but the garden is more of a challenge. I used hot pepper flakes when the little "darlings" took my flower bulbs. My husband grows habenaro and scotch bonnet peppers, he dries them then puts them in blender for pepper flakes. It only took 1 application and my tulips are beautiful. I kinda felt bad for the little guy, he took a bite then started rubbing his mouth, I gave him a piece of bread to cool his mouth down. You can use cayenne but the stronger the hotness the better. It is not harmful to squirrels but they will leave your plants alone. Good luck
