Leave a small bowl of apple cider vinegar nearby and they will drown themselves in no time.
We use these fruit traps from Amazon and they are the ONLY thing that works! We have one by the sink right now.
I recommend using glue fly strips. If the original problem has been removed, the fly strips should eradicate the population within 10 days. Gnats have a very short life cycle and 10 days usually covers the various stages of life
They may be going for the moisture in the sink drain, they love that. Put some boiling water down the drain to get rid of what is down there and repeat a couple of times a day. Use an attractant like cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap put it. Make sure your garbage is taken out very frequently. Wash produce before you store it, don't leave soft skinned produce out on the counter for any reason.
