How do you keep black snakes away from your house?

I was coming out of my garage and a 3 ft snake was near the door. I know they say they won’t hurt you but I don’t want them around.

Moth balls
Home Depot sells a snake repellant. I don't know how effective it is, but it might work for you.
I've always heard that moth balls will deter snakes. I throw them under my porch and house.
If you have snakes, you probably have mice or something else they like to eat. remove their food source then they will leave. Please, do not kill them as they keep rodents under control.
