If your vents are closed and mold is growing on the ceiling vents where they are closed, I suggest your contacting your HVAC company. I did that and my HVAC company told me not to close the vents from the ceiling. They need to be closed off from behind the vents (kind of like a damper) to prevent the air from getting to the vents. Once I had them do that, all is good. Hope my experience helps.Helpful Reply -

Are you sure it's mold? Or dust and dirt? If it is mold. You need to replace the vent & have it installed properly with a roof vent.Helpful Reply -
