Hi Mary, Spray vinegar onto newly sprouted grass blades in the sidewalk cracks. The acetic acid in the vinegar helps kill the new plants. For older grass blades, use a herbicide that contains a higher concentration of acetic acid. Apply heat to kill the grass and any weeds that sprout either with boiling water or a weed torch.
