Can I use Preen on my flower beds?

I have a couple of flower beds that have a combination of day lilies and wild flowers. My question is can I use a product like preen on them? Will it kill my wild flowers? Coneflowers, dianthus, black eyed Susan’s and the like?

Yes it will kill them
PREEN only kills weeds as they emerge from the ground. Existing flowers are not affected. Read the instructions and precautions on the package.
You want to sprinkle the Preen on your DRY garden before anything comes up and water it in. It can burn the leaves on new plants sprouting up and it will hurt some kinds of plants. You will need to follow the directions carefully. It doesn't hurt my daylilies. https://homeguides.sfgate.com/directions-using-preen-weed-preventer-86422.html
