What do I need to get rid of snails in my garden and flower beds

I have tried to boxed snail kill pellets from Lowes and Home Depot and also tried the 4 cups of pelletized lime to one cup of epsom salt formulation...this worked for awhile, but I think the snails got acclimated to this formula as well.

only solution I have found is to pick them and step on them .
I clear the debris around plants, eg leaves, mulch are kept a few inches away from stems. It seems to help. Also, you can put out smalls tins with beer. Supposedly, they are attracted to the smell, drink and drown...
Drink 1/2 a beer. Put remaining beer in can outside. They die happy!
Have you tried beer in a sunken tuna can? Bury it level with the ground, they love the stuff, climb in and drown! I now have predatory snails that eat the regular garden snails. Thought I had another type moving in and started stepping on them! Finally had time to research, no more smashing!!
