What is the best way to kill poison ivy and invasive boston ivy??

My neighbor has this growing in her back yard and it is coming into my back yard. I am highly allergic to poison ivy, but I tried to get her to do something and she just lets it go.

Oh no, what a pest! If you are nervous about pulling it out yourself, you can try making your own "killer" solution. Combine 3 pounds (yes, you read right) of salt with 1 gallon of water and 1/4 cup dish soap. Mix well, pour into a water sprayer, and spray away. Spraying this mixture will kill all plant growth it comes into contact with, so be sure you’re spraying only the poison ivy. Also, it’s best to do this on a sunny day since rain can wash the solution right off. It might take a few applications to do the trick, but it’ll work. Good luck!

There is a product by oath called Brush B Gone you can spray on the ivies. Just remember you should wear a mask when spraying and there should be no wind.

Poison Ivy has oily leaves and is very difficult to kill. I've used a product called "Poison Ivy Killer" that I found at Walmart next to the Roundup products. I don't remember how much it cost but it didn't matter because like you I am extremely allergic to it so not getting rid of it was not an option. Some of the larger vines may take a couple of sprays so keep on top of it. Also keep some of the spray on hand so when the new vines start creeping into your yard zap them asap to keep them in check. Good luck!

    3 cups white vinegar

    1/2 cup table salt

1 tablespoon liquid detergent or soap (I use Dawn) for stick-to-itiveness.

    Directions

    1. Mix vinegar and salt until the salt is completely dissolved. Stir in liquid dish soap, and pour into a spray bottle.
    2. Spray onto the green growing leaves of the plants.
    3. Wait a week, then repeat on any survivors. Best time to apply: during a dry spell.
