The bottom step looks pretty deteriorated. I think I would fix that and add some tiles or wooden decking.Helpful Reply -

Repair any broken areas, clean, paint or tile. Painting will require yearly maintenance. We had a house where the guy put outdoor carpet on the front porch. Never could get all the glue scrapped off and The power washer wouldn’t get it either. Ended up renting a sander and sanding it off.Helpful Reply -

Hi Megan,I see your porch has seen better days. If you don't want to replace these with newly poured concrete steps, you should remove the railing and set aside and patch the bottom step with new concrete. You can then re-attach the railing. Here are some links to sites that give you directions on how to repair the porch and how to cover the existing porch with wood. Hope it helps. :)https://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/skills-and-know-how/masonry-and-tiling/how-to-patch-and-resurface-concrete-stepshttps://farmhouseonboone.com/farmhouse-on-boone/how-to-cover-concrete-steps-with-wood/Helpful Reply -

Whatever decor you choose to go with, the first concern is that the concrete in steps is deteriorating to the extent that the bottom step is no longer level, and the railing is no longer anchored. The steps should be repaired to ensure they continue to be safe to use.Helpful Reply -

Neighbour had same scenario. Had wooden steps built right over the mess as suggested above. Looks great.Helpful Reply -
