How can I redo the walkway in front of the house?

I have very limited money and the walkway is overrun with grass. It is very rocky and has slate slabs that have sunk into the dirt. I need some ideas please. Would like a sort of u shape around the center rock with lamp post and pipes to fuel tank buried underneath.

Remove the rocks, weed and level the path. Place a retaining board on each side to guide the path, replace the rocks, and fill with sand or pebbles. Voila!

Would you try steps instead of a slope? If so, after clearing the area you can dig out steps. Then decide what type of material you want to place and build the steps.

I agree that the rocks need to be removed and path cleared. Put down edges to contain gravel/small rocks or dig trenches up to where the edge will be. Place the larger flat rocks in their new location and ease them down in among the small rocks level with their surface. It looks like you will need more large rocks. Flowers and or a small bus would look niece in the center of the U. Once done there will be a defined walkway that will really be impressive.

Cut the grass around the stones, buy some white paint and paint them all. I would then use a clear sealer and paint that on to stop the paint from flacking/pealing off.

you can also use yellow paint, red paint to make the stones pop a bit
