How do I waterproof a wooden box for outdoor storage?

I have a very large wooden box that I would like to convert to an outdoor storage bin. I need to waterproof it I'm sure.
You can stain it and use marine spar varnish as a finish or you can paint it with exterior house paint. I would do both inside and outside.
The house paint is a good idea. Don't forget to add some holes for drainage.
A good primer and Exterior paint.
Spray the box with Flex or a off-band version that we found at Home Depot. Be careful the fumes are strong. We used it on wood for the base of a grow box. Really creates a watertight seal.
You can use marine varnish, it will waterproof it and also protect against uv rays
Minwax Spar Urethane. They use it on wooden boats, and canoes.
