I need ideas for a back yard area that is about 14' x 8' area- please

We took down a deck and wanted to put an area on the ground. It is about 4 steps to the level ground area. I don't want to us convention mulch is on north side of house will draw moisture but looking for alternative ideas thank you

Hi Donna! There are some beautiful ground covers like phlox. Creeping phlox is colorful and low maintenance.

Creeping thyme, or other forms of thyme for your zone bloom all summer, are perennial, and will spread. Check to see which ones may grow in reduced sun areas, if that is your case. You could install pavers, or a gravel path in that area, if you preferred.
