It's a large room with three walls of nice varnished wood which we want to keep and paint light where we can still see the wood details.
Even though it is not metal, I would use Rustoleum or a waterproof boat paint to help keep the post from rotting. If there is not a better area, the post is a great place to mount your house number in big numbers. Paint the post to match your house, or in a color that will help with seasonal decorating. If the post is black, it will make your reflective numbers float in the dark. If it is white, it will make finding your driveway a little easier, and add glow-in-the-dark paint if your driveway is really hard to see. You have to reapply every 2-3 months, but the spray would take only a couple of minutes. Best wishes 😇💖
Exterior paint for wood
Use a good primer. Then, I prefer Rustoleum. You can probably get a pint and that would do it. Hope that helps.
Gloss Paint.
Try exterior trim paint or a solid stain?
