Is there a zipper to allow for the cushion to be filled? Sometimes there is an outside cover with a zipper that you can remove for washing and then a separate pad on the inside that is the cushion and that may be fiberfill. You might be able to just add the bean bag filler or you may need to create a separate "bag" that holds the bean bag filler and place it inside the cover. It should work as a filler. It's just a matter of how you will do it.
Hello Cheryl!
Here are some ideas for you.

You could but I think if will continually shift and fall into a ball in the bottom part of the chair. The papas an chair cushion is filler held in place with either stitching or buttons to hold it's shape. The bean bag filler is meant to be floppy and I don't think you will be happy trying to CONSTANTLY adjust the filling so you can sit down.
Did you try this? I wanted to do the same thing but wasn't sure if it would work.
