Faded surface in areas. Dark “hot pot” circular stains. Surface worn off at a seam area, so that it is white along the seam.

Call it a day with all of those issues you mentioned and replace it. If budget is tight I believe that laminate countertops can be purchased for much less money than solid surface, etc.

Faux butcher block is just another Formica type laminate. Peel it off and relaminate with new Formica

Paint is the easiest solution. Removing a gluing new laminate is na pain.
