Advice for an old nightstand makeover?
I have a old, large, solid wood nightstand that I want to makeover in a farmhouse style. It's stained and has a shiny tip coat. I like the look of chalk paint but I do not want something that will have to be waxed regularly. How should I prep this and what type of paint should I use?

Why go the expense of an ancient farmhouse style when you can instead go modern by a glass top, or even top it with leather instead?
I have a very old table that was my great grandmothers. It wasn’t the look I wanted so I used one of my mothers or grandmothers table scarves that was crocheted by one of them and put it on my table. Then I purchased a sheet if glass to go on top. It serves two purposes 1- hides the table 2 protects the antique table scarf and also keeps it from getting water stains from drinks or spills!
By all means, do what you want with your nightstand. Go to Pinterest to get some ideas and also here in Hometalk. Look at these as well:
