Looking for ideas on how to refinish a fold up table.
We use the table for camping and the top is peeling. It is used outdoors so I would like to refinish it so it stays nice for a long time. The table is 18" x 4'.

This is a really cute piece, I would say that the top (at least) is veneer, I would either sand it to remove the bubbles, plastic wood to make it even or use heat to remove the top piece completely. Paint the wood pieces but either try to preserve the insets or decoupage new on it
So cute! I'd paint it and add a new drawer pull
sand the bubbles out. With a cute, unique design like this, I'd finish with a shabby-chic look...
You can try to repair the veneer with foil wrapped around your iron on low. Put down a cotton towel over the areas of the furniture & check every few minutes. If that won't lift out the bubbles, you may have to sand it out. I would then chalk paint it & maybe decopage something else on the front panels & change out the handles. I could have a lot of fun with this piece!
If this is a painted piece (on the front) I would NOT change the front. Painted pieces are prime! ...just go to an upscale furniture consignment store and see!
I would try to lay those bubbles in the veneer down using an adhesive in an injection syringe, and then put a weight on top til dry.
I too like the painted front, I might just paint the brown wood finish maybe picking up the green in the painted image as my guide.
Hi there, to get rid of the bubbles poke a few small holes in the bubble and use a syringe to "inject" small amounts of wood glue into the bubble. Place a towel over the bubble and iron it flat for a few minutes. Place something heavy on the towel and leave for a few hours.
