The paint is not as important as is the cleaning and the primer. Be sure to ask the paint folks for a good primer and a paint to work with that primer.
Hi there, I've learned when it comes to kitchen cabinets a good paint helps a but, honestly, no matter what paint brand you choose it WILL fail if you don't prep the kitchen cabinets before hand. They need to be cleaned thoroughly with a degreaser and hand sanded before being cleaned again before you apply your primer and paint. I used water based primer and paint (valspar) on my mom's kitchen cabinets and they turned out great. I also did two coats of poly acrylic over the paint as well.
Method is key to a good finish. That being said......I like to use General Finishes because it levels so beautifully as it dries so it doesn't show brush strokes. It is available on Amazon.
