Staining furniture over Bondo
Is there a way to make the stain adhere over Bondo? I've repaired a few dresser and table tops with Bondo, sanded down but the stain really doesn't appear to like the Bondo very much...any tips? Thanks.

Janet Pizaro on Feb 01, 2016Three M makes a stainable bondo filler. If this was not what you used it will not adhere.Helpful Reply

Bryan's Workshop on Feb 01, 2016Hello! How large of an area? Check into "Faux wood stain/grain." You can buy gel stain and a wood grain rocker and go to town on your dresser and table. Good Luck!Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Feb 01, 2016I believed Bondo has fiberglass which would not create a smooth stainable surface. It's typically used in automotive or marine situations. You probably should have used wood filler.Helpful Reply
