Can I use antiquing wax over polyvine satin wax finish varnish?

I painted my dining room table and chairs white with Annie Sloane chalk paint and then used polyvine satin wax finish varnish in white to seal it since I found the Annie Sloane wax too hard to use. I want to change the tone a bit (it looks too white), but not sure what to use to do it.

I just checked into this and although they don't seem to recommend the poly as an intermediate coat, one of the sellers says "yes", you can use antiquing wax over finishing wax, paint, or whatever you have. Sounds like exactly what you want.

Think so. Be sure to wipe it off where u don’t want it & let dry overnight before buffing it the next day

    Try Shoe polish.........

You can use wax on top of most finishes with varying results, but you can’t use varnish on top of wax because the varnish needs to get into the wood and wax prevents this. 😇

You would have to seal it with poly varnish again. But to be sure of a good finish it might have been better to have waited before you applied the Varnish.
