There is a company called Miracle Method that come in and sprays something (like a paint but not) to resurface countertops. It has begun to look bad and I wanted to remove it. Any thoughts???

Did you ever get an answer? We want to remove it from our sink. It’s a horrible product.

Have you tried acetone, the kind you get in the blue can in Lowes?

  • Give Dee's suggestion a try. My personal opinion of the product is that it is cheap junk. We bought a rental house that had this in the kitchen, and since it was a decent sized kitchen with little counterspace, time and cost wise, it was easier to remove the counters and start over.

On the other hand, I love mine. I had four bathroom countertops and a shower stall done about 5 years ago, and it has held up perfectly. Of course, I didn't put it where it would receive direct wear and tear, just items placed on it. But it's beautiful, and I'm glad I did it.

Hi Elsa, I'd not heard of this product before but in doing a bit of research I learned that the main company has been in business for decades and the local service offered is a franchise. As with many franchise businesses the quality is variable. Since you're not pleased with yours, I'd suggest contacting them and asking if there is any way to remove the product. Likely whatever it has been applied to will need to be removed and replaced with a higher quality permanent product such as a new tub, countertop, or tile. I'm glad I learned about this option but won't be using it for my home but it might be cost effective for a rental. I'm thinking I have seen this product used in some of the lower end motels that have had a face lift.
