Is bit already textured, just paint like any other wall. If not textured, don't, texturing lowers house value.
You can use a specialty textured roller. I've seen people add sheet rock mud to thicken the paint so they can texture. Check out Artistic Painting Studio on Facebook. She's out of CA and does a lot of this type stuff. Here's a link to look at the crocodile texture roller:

Hi Susan! When you go to buy a roller, buy one for a rough surface. They are more plush looking, and help work the paint into the texture.
