Polycrylic instead. Doesnt yellow. I seal with that all the time. I only use wax on things with little wear and tear like picture frames, chair legs, etc. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Minwax-8-oz-Clear-Satin-Polycrylic-Protective-Finish-for-Interior-Wood-233334444/202061439. Just find the best price. This is what I use. Ordered mine from Amazon.
Polyurethane will 'yellow' over time. Polycrylic is a better choice.
