How to tone down silver paint?

I am trying to paint some boards to make them look like aged Galvanized metal.
My problem is that the project calls for a silver metallic spray paint. I was just wondering if anyone knew of how I could tone down the silver so it is not so shinny.

There are different shades of silver that is produced by Rustoleum that are very shiny to dull.
I would get a dull silver paint, Rustoleum is very good about having such choices. Hope this helps.
Yes, I bought a silver spray from Rustoleum that is not shiny at all but I’m thinking you can probably use a dark wax to make it look aged.
You can use a black tinted glaze medium to tone it down. There is a paint called.hammered it comes in different colors and the silver one looks like galvanized
