We have built-ins on either side of our gray brick fireplace, and I would love to paint the fireplace out in white. However, my husband feels it would be a bad idea.
You could get a mural to put on it they sell them on eBay or you could do clouds
Hi Kathy, it depends on the material your floor is made of. Just about anything can be painted with the right type of paint, good luck!
any garage floor paint will work with some fine sand mixed in to make it non slip

local hardware store like Home Depot will have plenty options for you
They sell no-slip flooring at Home Depot or you can order from Amazon.
Re: Kmdreamer's suggestion above:
I would not recommend putting a mural or decal on the floor, as I would think this would make the floor more slippery.

You can get some that is designed for truck beds. We put some on a ramp we built for my mother in law. Check to see if it will work on the type of flooring you have, since you didn't say.
You can get non-slip mix-in's for paint at your local home improvement center. It's typically a powder, just stir it in.
Hi! You can paint almost any surface with the right prep and paint. If you want to add extra texture to the floor, you can. There are additives for porch and floor paint to make surfaces less slippery. If you are concerned about maintaining the current texture of the floor, I would stay with the current floor and deep clean it first. Anything you use to make it shine has the potential of increasing the slip factor. Ground in dirt can really dull a floor. Try Scrubbing Bubbles a section at a time and a soft scrub brush. Good luck and stay safe!
