Although it seems to be a fad to paint fabric furniture, keep in mind that upholstery fabric is not designed or intended to be painted. Although some people report that they have had success, your results may not meet with your expectations, and you will be stuck with the permanent alteration/damage of your piece of furniture. The paint will always change the texture, feel and wear factor of the fabric, and may not adhere well for durability.
Yes you can paint fabrics though for best results the paint needs to be thinned, worked into the fabric, and may need more than one coat of paint. Youtube and Pinterest both have great ideas and tutorials. Good luck!!!

If your looking to paint fabric, you might reconsider and use fabric dye instead if your looking to go darker or brighter than current fabric.... http://www.naptimediy.com/2014/02/dyewingbackchair/ be sure to use really hot water. And if the fabric is polyester, get the new Rite Dye for poly... Dye More. rite has instructions on dyeing and also color formulas.
