Hi Kathleen I've had good luck painting just about every kind of gold "hardware" with rustoleum's new hardware spray paint :) Just make sure and tape it off really good!

Yes you can. Tape off the shower door (this the most time consuming part). Scuff up the metal shower door with sand paper so the paint will stick. Rustoleum makes a paint and primer in one that works very well. Make several passes allowing dry time in between each coat. Remember several light coats are better then one heavy coat. You don't want drips! Allow the final coat to dry well and remove tape. Give it several hours or overnight to fully cure before using the shower (just to be on the safe side).

YES!..... give it a light sanding with 220 grit... clean off with alcohol (to remove soap scum, finger prints, etc.... and prime and paint with the finish you want... Rustoleum products perform well in a wet environment... especially if you take the time to put several coats of an exterior sealer on them.
