Can I paint my quartz countertops and full backsplash?

My dimly lit galley kitchen has dark brown countertops with continuous full backsplash. I'll be updating the lighting and painting my cabinets a white or creamy color (DIY). While I'm at it, I want to brighten up the countertops as well. Little kitchen, small budget! Thank you!

Or you can use Giani Countertop Paint Kit or Daich Countertop Kit.

Quartz is shiny and slippery so it can't be painted with conventional countertop paint kits.

There are You Tube vids about painting countertops and backsplashes that show you how to prep the surface -- rough it -- so it will hold the paint -- not just any paint will do.

Just a tiny warning. Granite in good shape is much more valuable for resale than painted countertops. When you are updating the lighting, you might want to put in undercounter lighting and spot lights. You can get big light colored cutting boards or work trays to put on top of the granite. And you just might have a lighter, brighter kitchen than you expected. Best wishes 😇

Quartz not granite. I agree with you, but done to look like granite or quartz would still sell.

You called the counters "quartz" ....Quartz is a non-porous man-made material, unlike granite which is very porous. Also, it is quite expensive and durable and a sought-after material for kitchen upgrades. As one above said, you'll diminish the value of your kitchen by painting your counters. If you're bound & determined, however, it would be best to contact a dealer who sells quartz counters, or google quartz counters & be directed directly to a manufacturer. Then contact and ask a professional! JMHO!! :-)
