Can I paint over gold brass.

I have an older fan in the living room. It works great, but the fixtures are that bright brass color. Is there a paint that can be used to paint the bright gold color?

Rustoleum makes spray paint for metal. You would have to take down the ceiling fan (I assume you are talking about a ceiling fan.)

If you wipe over with half a lemon, the acid in it will get to work to dull the brass. If you think it has a coat of laquer on it, it maybe worth rubbing over with wire wool first to help the patination.......

Prepping by cleaning is an important first step. Yes, there are many quality spray paints you can use.
Take it down and use Rustoleum spray paint for metal.
