Can I paint my popcorn ceiling?

Be sure everything is sanded and if you're going to paint, be sure to prime first.
clean well, let dry. If varnish or poly, sand lightly. Prime with a stain blocking primer, let dry, paint.
Are you talking about raw wood?
I agree with Ann and Dfm. Be sure to tape off or use drop cloths all around the windows and frames. Best wishes ☺️
