Can I have natural stone around my pool? The Deck and Patio Company usually says NO! As a trusted adviser to my clients, we usually recommend against it mainly because of how hot it gets in the sun. On Long Island bluestone is used on many pool projects. There are some situations where we do use bluestone (mainly in part shade areas) and we install it differently than most contractors.
This project showcase is a freeform vinyl liner pool and spill over spa in Manhassett New York. We tucked it into the back right corner of the backyard and surrounded it with a stacked stone wall and lush plantings. The pool patios are a concrete paver slab made by Techo Bloc and is called "Inca" the color is Sahara. These paver is installed the same way traditional paver are installed on crushed on a stone base. We also use polymer sand joints to prevent weeds from growing in between the joints.
