Can someone tell me the easiest way to start a blog or a website?

I've had several ideas I've posted to Pinterest and would really like credit where credit is due. Maybe someone could give me some advice.

Use WordPress.com and just start writing! It's very easy to use and you can easily upload photos. The basic version is free. You can also invite people to follow you by sending them an email. We've done this for more than 5 years. Nearly 6 now.
